Attacking People and Plants

Channel your cat's need to stalk and pounce by providing well-designed toys to pounce on.

There are a variety of excellent battery-powered toys that stimulate stalking, capturing, and holding "prey".

If your cat has already decided that stalking your ankles is more fun, arm yourself with a water pistol and shoot when you see the glint in your cat's eyes.

Cats naturally often graze on grass, to help digestion and for the satisfaction of chewing on items with fiber.

Provide your housebound cat with its own "cat grass" to chew on. You can grow it from seed or buy it at pet shops fast-growing, thin grass is suitable.

Check all your houseplants to ensure you do no: any that are potentially dangerous if chewed, such as Dieffenbachia.

If your cat is already attracted to your existing houseplants, put them out of reach or temporarily surround  them with double-sided adhesive tape.
