Care of the Field

Fencing should be checked on a daily basis where possible; you need to look for any holes, such as rabbit or badger, which may appear along hedge lines.

It is important to take good care of your fields so that they are safe and nutritious for your horse. If possible, droppings should be removed on a daily basis but if this is not possible then, in dry weather only, the droppings should harrowed once a week.

You need to look for any debris that may have found its way into the field.
If you are taking on a new pasture, or feel your present area is in need of some help, you can talk to the U.S.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or to your local farming contractors, seed merchants, or fertilizer companies.

They generally send someone out to assess your fields and are happy to help you decide what course of action to take.
