Cats Rarely Make Hollywood Heroes
Cats rarely make Hollywood heroes and they certainly have not yet climbed the pinnacles reached by dogs such as Beethoven, Benjie, and Lassie.
This is simply because cats are a great deal more difficult to train than dogs, and their faces are not usually so expressive.
Cats with successful careers in entertainment to their name have usually received many hours of painstaking training, which are only rewarded if the cat has any inclination to learn the tricks it is being taught.
Those cats that do adapt to a life within the entertainment industry, as stars or in supporting roles, will always steal the show.
With very few exceptions, cats tend to play supporting roles in film and television, but in advertising, an area that is an important part of entertainment, cats are almost on a par with dogs.
As human cultural changes continue to swing in favor of cats, and computer animation becomes more sophisticated, it is likely that their most "entertaining" years lie ahead.
