Cheetah Acinonyx Jubatus
Perhaps the most distant of all the domestic cat's living relatives, the cheetah is the fastest animal on land.
It shares the hunting territory of lions and leopards, but prefers to hunt for its meals in the morning and early afternoon, when other predators rest.
To assist with rapid acceleration, its claws, unlike those of other cats, do not retract into sheaths.
