Critical Injuries
Injured cats are often unable to move. Take extreme care when moving a cat with potentially serious physical injuries.
Let the cat find its own most comfortable breathing position, then, keeping its back as still as possible, slip one hand under the cat's rump and the other under its chest, and gently slip it onto an improvised "stretcher," such as a blanket or coat, for a trip to the nearest veterinarian.
A well-cushioned cardboard box is ideal for transportation. Cover the cat in the box to reduce movement and conserve body heat.
