Psalters were prayer books commissioned by wealthy families.
Illustrated with both Christian and folklore narratives, they were often used to teach children Latin.
A Lincolnshire knight, Sir Geoffrey Luttrell, commissioned his psalter around 1330.
It is filled with an unusually large profusion of figures and foliage, including this cat and mouse, all rendered in exquisite detail.
