Feline Social Behavior is Enormously Varied
Feline social behavior is enormously varied. In some circumstances, cats show great intimacy: females may groom each other and even feed each other's kittens.
In other circumstances, females fiercely protect their dens and feeding territory from others who happen into them. Some females accept males on their home turf; others drive them off.
Males are equally elastic. Young cats may be tolerated or viciously attacked, sometimes even by their mothers.
