First-Aid Kit

The most important item in your first-aid kit should be your veterinary surgeon's name and telephone number. Even though you may have it elsewhere, it doesn't harm to duplicate it.

Absorbent cotton wool
Adhesive and gauze bandages, 5 cm (2 jn) and 10 cm (4 in)
Gauze swabs, sterile wraps
Cotton buds
Scissors, sharp-pointed
Thermometer
Forceps, medium-sized, blunt points
Plastic syringe, 20 ml (Yi fl oz)
Eye drops
Cleansing ear drops
Antiseptic or antibiotic ointment
Antiseptic powder and wash
Rescue cream
Medicinal liquid paraffin
 
The forceps in a first-aid kit should never be used for probing ground. You must always be able to see whatever it is you are attempting to remove.
