Foals
Like humans, horses grow milk teeth before growing their permanent teeth. The newborn foal probably has its temporary premolars, but generally the central incisors come through in approximately one week.
Foals have a full set of milk teeth by around nine months, which consists of six incisors in the top and bottom jaw, and three premolars on each side of the top and bottom jaw.
They therefore have a total of 12 incisors and 12 premolars, and they do not grow temporary tushes.
