From Consumption to Disposal

Feline digestion and excretion are adapted to eating little and often.

Food passes down the esophagus and into the stomach, where digestion begins.

Small amounts leave the stomach at intervals, entering the small intestine, where nutrients are absorbed. Water is absorbed from solid waste in the large intestine.

The kidneys filter liquid waste from the blood and pass it to the bladder.
