Genetics Follows Simple
Genetics follows simple, mathematical laws. Every cell in a cat’s body contains a nucleus at some stage in its development.
Each nucleus contains 38 chromosomes, arranged in 19 pairs, which are just large enough to be seen with a powerful optical microscope.
Each chromosome is formed from a tightly wound double helix of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), which in turn is made up of thousands of units called genes, strung together like beads.
Each gene is made from four different proteins - A, T, C, and G -and the combinations of these proteins provide the information for all aspects of a cat's life.
