Grooming
Cats with long, lean bodies and short coats need only little grooming for hygienic reasons; brushing the coat once a week will stimulate the oil glands, remove dead hair, and keep the coat lustrous.
Cats with dense or long coats need more frequent grooming, while older cats need more attention to their teeth, nails, and anal regions.
From the time your feline arrives in your home, train it to accept combing, dental attention, and nail clipping. Always use food treats and play as rewards for good behavior.
Grooming reinforces your cat's relationship with you, reducing your blood pressure and that of your cat, a potent sign of relaxation.
