Guinea Pigs Make Wonderful Pets

Guinea pigs make wonderful pets for people of all ages for a multitude of reasons. Domesticated guinea pigs come in an exceptionally wide variety of coat and color types.

When fully grown, a guinea pig will be eight to ten inches long, about four inches high, and will weigh from one to three pounds. Their small size means that they are easy to handle and fondle.

In fact, guinea pigs respond well to cuddling and hugging. Often an animal will settle comfortably in your lap to be petted and scratched.

Not only are these pets cute and lovable; they also have endearing personalities. They are gentle, friendly, and will not bite, even if handled roughly or improperly. Unfortunately, guinea pigs cannot be housebroken and may therefore leave you a little wet.
