Horse and Man
Such as the Kazak people of Eurasia, the horse is still an intrinsic part of everyday live.
In some countries, the horse is still used in agriculture and for transport, and there always be areas where the horse can work and the tractor cannot. In our privileged societies, the role of the horse has changed somewhat.
Technology has largely replaced the horse in industry and agriculture, and many of the impressive draft breeds are diminishing in numbers and are in danger of disappearing completely, although the breed societies are rigorous in their efforts to maintain the those at risk.
Many of the draft breeds are often crossed with lighter breeds, such as the Thoroughbred, to produce a medium-weight, quality riding horse.
Several breweries around England and Europe still keep teams of draft horses, such as Shires, Clydesdales, and Jutlands, which can still be seen pulling brewery drays at larger agricultural shows and in promotional work tor the breweries.
