Horses are Sociable Creatures

Horses are sociable creatures and as such communicate with each other in various ways using their senses.

They have exceptionally good hearing, and their ears are invariably mobile for much of the time, listening for possible signs of danger.

The ears also provide a good indication as to what the horse is feeling or thinking - when they are laid flat back, it can be a sign of aggression, fear, or distress; ears pricked and forward shows an alert horse checking out the environment around it.
