Pain and Stress
In the brain, chemicals called neuropeptides have a powerful effect on pain control, energy and a sense of well-being.
Pain part of the cats defense system, prompting it to avoid continuing dangers. During the emotional intensity of a fight, cats produce protective neuropeptides called endorphins thatreduce the unpleasantness and intensity of pain.
Chronic stress may trigger excesses or deficiencies in neuropeptides pain and stress can therefore both affect suceptibility to or speed of recovery from illness. Use only feline pain killers: drugs that work in dogs or humans can be lethal to cats.
A Stress-Free Life
The sustained release of stress-related chemicals can cause damage to a cars body, including the immune system, and affect the speed of its recovery from injury as well as illness.
