Sick Cat
The cat’s natural independence usually surfaces when it is sick. Although some cats seek the attention of their owners, the majority try to conceal signs of illness, often hiding away.
When a cat is sick, other resident house cats may behave spitefully toward it, an antisocial clue to illness. Always contact your veterinarian when you observe changes in your cat's routine, and follow your vet's instructions for giving medicines and for changes diet.
Prevention is always simpler and cheaper than treatment; arrange for routine checkups to catch old-age problems early, when changes in diet can forestall development of age-related decline.
Good cat care depends upon careful observation of your cat's behavior to spot any changes in its routine. Just as important is your willingness to take your cat to the vet when necessary, and to carry out treatments that the vet prescribes.
