Stall Should be Always Thoroughly Cleaned

The stall should be always thoroughly cleaned out every morning, and then throughout the day should be skipped out, which is basically just removing any droppings.

In the evenings the bed again needs to be inspected, laid down properly, and skipped out. Always do a thorough clean out without the horse in the stall.

First remove all the droppings that are visible, then start working all the clean bedding into one corner, removing the soiled bedding as you go.

You should end up with one corner full of clean bedding; sweep the dirt from the floor, then lay the bed back down again. Each day choose a different corner to store the clean bedding in, so that in four days all the corners have been cleaned and swept.

Some people choose to lay just some of the bedding down, leaving most of it piled up around the walls — this is known as a day bed - then in the evening the rest of the bedding is replaced to make a thicker night bed.
