Urinary Tract
As dogs grow older, they may become incontinent and, in some, the kidneys fail to filter the blood efficiently.
Incontinence
Loss of control of the bladder, or urinary incontinence, occurs in older females who, with time, lose sphincter muscle control and dribble urine when sitting, lying down, or sleeping.
Treatment
Many people assume this is an inevitable component of growing older, but, in most instances, the nuisance of urinary incontinence can be controlled or eliminated with simple medication that increases sphincter muscle tone.
