When You Look at a Horse
When you look at a horse, you must try and ascertain if it really matches up to its glowing advertisement. It is advisable to keep an open mind and to ask lots of questions.
It is also a good idea to check up on the prizes and award that a horse is alleged to won. If a horse is said to have won in competitions, it is important to see documentary evidence of this.
Find the organization with which the horse has been accredited points and check up. Similarly, when you go to look at a horse, find out if it has been active in the riding clubs.
If it has, you can ring the secretary of a particular club to find out more about the horse. There are many publications that advertise horses.
Any horse magazine, for example, will have a large 'for sale' section at the back offering a wide range of horses. Often your local feed or tack stores will have a notice board with a 'for sale' section.
